What is CPCS?

A CPCS is a Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor.

The CPCS Program was developed from the Approved List of Supervisor in the early 1999's at the request of the LPCA Board of Directors to improve the quality of clinical supervisors.

Where do I get CPCS Workshops?

Easy, check the LPCA website, www.LPCAGA.org Look for the tab marked Career & Training.  On the drop down menu, click CE workshops.  On the next screen click CE Calendar and check the box for SUPERVISON. 


What does a CPCS do?

The licensing board requires future mental health professionals to have over 100+ hours of clinical supervision in order to become licensed.  The LPC Supervisor is required to be certified.   VIEW State Licensing Board RULES

There is a shortage of trained clinical supervisors which is why this certifications so important.
