Unrecognized CE Providers for CPCS

Workshops & CEs Not Approved

Not all courses are recognized by LPCA of GA to meet the CPCS CE requirements. 



• AAMFT, SW / ASWB, Addiction, and Leadership "Superior / Supervisor at Work" workshops do not count towards certification. Does not meet the LPC Scope of Practice O.C.G.A. 43-10A and the Composite Board Rules for Supervisors/Supervision for Counselors.
• Workshops from California most likely will not be accepted. CA did not license LPCs until 2016, therefore, their trainings are by LMFTs (AAMFT)
• Any home-study/independent-study/self-study CEs are NOT acceptable for the CPCS application or recertification.
• If your CE certificate states "This is a non-interactive self-study course" it is NOT acceptable for certification.
• Any CE Certificate with more than 20 CE hours will NOT be accepted.  Licensing board Rule 135-9
• If the Course provides CEs in addiction supervision (CCS) or AAMFT supervision or SW or how to be the "superior" at work, it will not be accepted.

If the Course has one of the following, it still may not be accepted. When in doubt do not use.

• Does it have NBCC approval and does it meet the law O.C.G.A. 43-10A and licensing board rule 135-9? Some NBCC approved courses DO NOT meet the supervision credential. Don't Assume.
  
• Does the Course meet the standards for delivery of CEs for the CPCS program?
